knotty alder doorsIn our industry things have gotten a little difficult over the past few years to say the least.  I was up this morning at 5:00am thinking about how the millwork industry has changed and what challenges we face in the future.

I started scouring the internet and found a very heart felt article by Millwork Magazine.  In the article they said;

"The past prepares us for the future. Over the years, we have lost good friends, industry leaders and some great teachers, but they left their footprint on our lives and on our association as we have moved toward the future. We should never lose our past, it is who we are--and that respect for the past is what is priceless about this industry and our association."

That hit home for me because I do feel a kind of kindred ship with this business and everyone in it.  Not only that but with all of our loyal customers and our future loyal customers.

When we create custom knotty alder doors or cabinets or any other type of millwork, we are helping our customers with something very personal, something that touches their hearts and soul and ours too.

Creating custom woodwork is a very fulfilling passion, when a door is created, it feels smooth, it has it's own characteristics - maybe the knotty alder creates a shape of some sort in the door - it is a creation all it's own.

I remember those doors and cabinets, I remember creating them, I know where they now live - whether it be in a business or home -  I feel a personal connection to each one.

That is why at Northwest Door & Mill your opinion matters to us.  We want you to be satisfied with our product, we care about the product we produce, we care about the product you will be living with.

Give us a call, we are here for you.
